Hey folks. I thought I would mention a couple of the neat little storygame-style mechanics that people might find novel in Spark.
1) A procedurally-generated kicker system, based on the agendas and goals of larger factions.
2) Competitive and scene…

Just for the record, Steve is correct on my example pricing. Dealing with it as a per-unit cost out of a 1000 unit print run is much less painful to me than saying "I need to earn $3000+ of sales to break even".
So the way I am seeing it, when I buy your book, I am paying you for creating it, I am paying your printer for making the physical artifact, *and* I am paying your editor, illustrator, and layout professionals. Are those costs not built in to a ph…
Fundamentally? It takes some time and effort to create a PDF (if you have the software) or you have to pay someone to make a decent one. By charging for your PDF, it might give you enough financial breathing room to be able to drop the price of the …
"I will never betray the Dimber Damber" followed by someone independently stabbing the Dimber Damber in the face, seems like a prettry common type of situation. It might just have been that the last game we were in was a real bloodbath, but it seems…
It's mostly social issues and the impact of crime on a city, rather than focussing on individual crimes. It's a bit of a personal human-scale drama. Part of the reason for having "Cold City" was the implication of cold cases and unsolved crimes impa…
I did a much better job in later commissions. My artist guidelines are here, and the newest pieces are far more inclusive and diverse.
Rad. I'd wholehearted recommend dropping another illustration from the game right after the "Challenge Your Beli…
The only art featured is of dudes. While that may be because there's only one piece of art on the page currently... I want to know that a book will contain diversity and feature awesome women in the art. A lot of RPGs fail on that front.
A thing yo…
Are you sure you want to call one of your settings "Cold City" when there is an RPG already out there called Cold City?
Good point Orklord. I still feel that the term is appropriate for the Montreal police drama setting, dealing with cold cases and…
1) Yup, I'm still working on the video at this point. It's the last major thing left.
2) Oh, neat! I didn't know that the FAQ was automated like that.
3) Thank you; I'm currently investigating the tax situation as my business.
@MarkT Space, with an alien spacecraft headed towards earth. The crew were all test subjects who had alien DNA spliced into them, so they could survive in the alien spaceship and plant biological weapons. T'was fun.
I ran a few games over the course of the con, and even got a chance to play a little.
Friday morning: I administered Our Last Best Hope, first time playing the game. It was compelling, though I missed one of the important procedural steps in the t…
Yes, I did totally steal that from Paranoia. It seems to fit well.
There's a reason why I put goblin romance in there. We actually _did_ have a goblin wedding in the last session with that playset, though admittedly the goblin being married was ob…

A trainwreck version of that would indeed be amazing and I would love to hear AP of that!
I ran two session of that last weekend. The first session had two goblins trying to worship Pelor and the first goblin Paladin. Ended about as well as could …

A friend of a friend dragged a pair of impressionable youths into a Runequest game in the mid-nineties. I took to it like a fish to water and had a heck of a revelation when I started actually roleplaying, back before Rifts infected me with some pow…
The substantive changes IMO are how aspects are dealt with. Rather than Manouvers, Assessments and Declarations, it's boiled down to "Create Advantage" which is much cleaner as a mechanic. Same thing for clarification of the Tag vs Invoke mechanics.
*nods* True, I really should grab the Pathfinder Beginner's Box, since it is reputed to be quite good on that front. I know that the choose-your-own adventure intro in the Lamentations of the Flame Princess set is pretty good as well.
Really, I wa…
Yeah, they had been borked for a while there as a result of changing the name of the folder on my server. That should be fixed now.

I slightly organized them on theme, but they cover such diverse topics that I was uncertain on any logical order. I wanted to cluster the Art and Layout early, for example.
It's my pleasure that I can give back to the community at least a little.
